A "Tiffany Editorial"

So I decided to address a few things. Maybe this opinion essay thing will make you, dear reader, change your mind about some things or you might agree with me. Note: All of what I write is what I believe, in no way am I trying to make you do anything stupid, you'll get what I mean as you read on.   So, if you're into Hong Kong entertainment, you've probably heard of the raging sex scandal sweeping the media. If you're out of the loop, asianfanatics.net gives you good/somewhat reliable news. I am deeply disappointed with a few things:

1) Gillian Chung, Bobo Chan, Cecilia Cheung and many other female artists have their "image tainted." It's amazing how some people view them now. (I am specifically targeting the online community) I mean, come on! Is it illegal or have a sex life? All of these women are over the age of twenty-one. I find it offensive to see how people are reacting to this. What are they going to do? Get a banner and start protesting for the artists to quit their jobs? Celebrities have a life too! It's not like they don't have family or friends. The have feelings, they're not robots! They are talented, or have some sort of charisma that attracts people to look at them. Not only is the number of complaints ridiculous, but also absurd. "You never really know someone until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them" -Harper Lee from To Kill a Mockingbird. This is a quote that many people, including myself, should learn. If you were in any of the artists position, what would you do? Certainly, you would say something to address the scandal or recuperate. This event would definitely leave a mark in their lives. Having people you don't even know calling you a slut, hypocrite or hoe isn't going to make anyone's day peachy. Although everyone has the freedom of speech (unsure of Chinese government) where do we draw the line? Is it legal to have death threats to kill someone for having sex and having photos leaked out accidentally? (News about triad leaders giving Edison death threats because of what he did) Edison Chen is as much of a victim like the female celebrities. Is he an idiot for having his laptop sent out for repairs with >SEX PHOTOS< in it? Yes! Was he an idiot taking them in the first place? Yes! So where do where do we draw the line for "constructive criticism"?

2) I am also annoyed by how the police are handling this investigation. This just goes to show that policemen and people with important government jobs don't step up unless the media is covering the story. The Hong Kong police AND other Asian countries' police force have gained notoriety with people all over the world. Laziness, no effort or dedication. And dare I say it? Bribery! Has society stooped down this low? How can these policemen speak to other citizens that have their sex photos leaked online without them knowing? Is there going to be an interview questions like, "Are you a famous celebrity? No? Well then, pay me $500 and I promise I'll find a guy for you to take to court!" Hell no! It's obvious that the media has played an important factor to spur the police to work (for real). I do understand that there are many men/women who are policemen and love their job. I respect that. However, is it so hard for one to do one's JOB? Protecting the citizens, upholding justice and all of the wonderful things in between. I see something is wrong with this pictures. It's obvious that the police force is trying to do its best to cover up the REAL image of their group. Point: Do your job, protect the citizens and start growing up.

3) Last but not least, I am disappointed with the  people behind  the whole spreading of the pictures. "Kira" the supposedly, "original source" of these photos should  get his/her head checked. What good will come out of releasing pictures of famous people having sex? Does it make you happy to know that you just ruined someone's life? Is it satisfying to know that you could make famous people crumble in front of the public eye? It is completely unnecessary to release these photos. There is no point in seeing these photos. NO POINT. Sure, you can make their companies pay you, and sure you can gain x amount of money. But will it do any good for the people around you? Scumbag! One reason "Kira" released them was for his/her greedy ass. Money makes the world go round and now it's spinning at light speed! Hooray for the greedy asshole that wrecked innocent people's lives! Maybe we should find some more pictures on a famous celebrity's laptop and steal them! Great Plan! As you can tell, dear reader, I am being sarcastic. But seriously, it is heartless to make another person's life miserable without knowing them or having a REAL excuse. Besides, how can there be a reasonable excuse for making someone's life miserable? Exactly. So I bid all of you adieu. Goodbye and comment like the wind. I would like to read your feedback. Who knows? Maybe I'll learn something new.

Confused & Disturbed

Please keep my family in your prayers, hopefully everything is going to be okay.
This week is spiraling down the drain, suddenly everything is falling from my fingertips.
Please Please Please let everything go back to normal...
If I could go back in time, I would change so many things.
Pain is supposed to make you better, not bitter.

Just One Moment

Staring at the blue sky, I wonder where life may lead me. Will I be happy? Who will I fall in love with? Just taking a moment and thinking about the future heals the heart. A love that could never happen, can be realized only through dreams. Stare into the sky, and reminisce about the happy memory. Just dream and fly away...

Daily Love Pills

What are "daily love pills" you might ask? Well, I've brilliantly transformed my blog into a newspaper almost. I'll be posting a daily story about, you guessed it, love. The stories will be created by me, or taken from another person to share. I'm going to start off with an introduction. What is love? Love is, as defined by dictionary.com, a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend. It is easy to define and say; however, finding love and truly experiencing it is difficult. Love is a journey, you experience love in your life. Everyday, you meet new people, learn more, and grow closer together with your friends and family. You might even be in a relationship now. But one thing remains constant, love must consist of the following:

1) Trust - It is easy to build trust, but hard to rebuild it once you've lost a loved one's trust in you. Therefore, you must always tell the truth, even if it might hurt.Your loved one would be happy to know if he/she was acting like a jerk. So keep in mind, that trusting someone also requires that person to trust you back.
2) Commitment - Being faithful is imperative in a relationship. Whether it be friendship or marriage. Everyone makes promises to "love you forever" and "never tell anyone else." But, when you commit yourself in a marriage, you vow to only love your spouse. You cannot change your mind and love someone else. You can never commit to a secret and gossip about it. This requires the emotional strength to stay above temptation and hold your commitments to your heart.

There are more things love needs to have, but this week I will mention the two that I find most important. So the question is, have you loved someone today yet? Have you been trustworthy? This was your daily love pill, no prescription needed. The only thing you need is curiosity.

2008!

I'm so sorry I haven't updated in...such a long time. Well, I celebrated Christmas with a party, opened up presents and enjoyed as much of it as possible. (very hard to do so because there weren't so many presents to open that night boo-hoo) I went to my grandparents' place for a new year's eve party. We were going to count down but decided not to because my mother was tired. I came home, did nothing else for three hours and didn't get the chance to see Time Square's New Year Celebration. I have been thinking about my new year resolutions. And I have compiled them into a list:

Tiffany's 2007 2008 Resolutions
1) Gain some confidence - I have insecurities about myself, my grades and appearance. So I'm trying not to bring up anything that might make me upset or others around me upset. This is important, because I especially want to gain confidence for the stage. I will be 'Lily' from the musical Annie for my school, and I need to be my best shape to portray the character.
2) Spend some time with family + friends - I've been noticing that I have been wrapping myself into school work too much, and I know there needs to be a change. I also know that the upcoming years will be difficult for me to spend time with the important people around me. So this is the time for me to enjoy company.
3) ??? - What else is there?

That's all I've thought about to make myself a better person. I might need to ask some other people about what I should add to the list. But they'd probably say a psychiatrist appointment or some anti-depressants. Goodbye! Have a happy new year
